First, thank you for purchasing our theme!

This guide provides instructions for installation, help on getting started and extensive documentation of features. It is recommended you read it thoroughly to fully leverage the Monaco theme's capabilities. Please also make sure to check out our Video Tutorials as they explain everything covered in here in greater depth. We hope you enjoy building with Monaco as much as we enjoyed developing it and continue to develop with new features!

Server requirements is one of the key factors for WordPress and ZK Monaco theme, it is highly recommended to use a server which supports the following requirements. We explain about WordPress, ZK Monaco, WooCommerce server requirements.

WooCommerce requirements

ZK Monaco support WooCommerce officially so it is best to make sure your server also supports this plugin requirements if you are going to set up a shop.To learn about the plugin server requirements, read the official article.

Before beginning the installation and configuring of your new theme, you must first have WordPress already installed on a server.

If you are struggling, here is a very detailed guide at Wordpress Codex that will walk you through every step.

Once you have setup a copy of WordPress, there are two ways you can go about installing the theme:

• 1. FTP Upload
  

  Unzip the download and upload the theme directory /Monaco/ into your WordPress themes directory /wp-content/themes/.

• 2. WordPress Upload
  

  This is definitely the easier route for most. Simply navigate to Appearance > Add New Themes > Upload. Click the 'browse' button and locate the still zipped theme folder. The theme will be uploaded and installed in a matter of seconds.

After you have installed the theme successfully, you can optionally import the supplied dummy data in order to get a feel for things. If you're interested in importing the data, please check the Demo Data section below.

Once you have installed and activated our theme you will be prompted to install required and recommended plugins. Just click the link to begin installing plugins.

Next, check boxes to select all the plugins you want to install, select the bulk action of install from the dropdown box and then click the button to apply.

Next, just click the link to Return to Required Plugins Installer.

Select the plugins you had installed, and then apply the bulk action to activate them.

Finally, you will got a confirmation notice that your plugins were actived.

To help you set up website with the least efforts, we include in the theme package dummy content file. After installing it, all content seen on the live demo will be imported except for images/videos.

There are two methods you can use, one is using our One-click Importer, the other is Importing manually. To go with the former option, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to Install Demo on the Tools menu.



2. The Install Demo section will show for you.

3. Just click Install the demo you want and wait for the process to complete. Example for zk-monaco-01 demo.

To be perfect, you should make sure all of photos available.

Go to Force Regenerate Thumbnails on the Tools menu.





You just need to wait until the update is complete all photos.

You will have the perfect website.

Now you have a website just like our demo.

To imprort demo content by yourself, please follow some steps below:

Install and Active Widget Importer & Exporter plugin.

You need to extra theme package file. And then:

Step-1: Import Taxonomies

1. Go to Tools on the CPT UI menu




2. You shoud be able to find it following the path zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > taxonomies.json.

3. You can copy all content in file taxonomies.json and paste in here like image below:

Step-2: Import post-type

1. Go to Post Types tab.

2. Copy all content in file post-type.json in the path zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > post-type.json and paste in here like image below.

Step-3: Import XML

1. Go to Tools > Import.







2. You need upload two file:

Select Wordpress system then browse for the .xml file. You shoud be able to find it following the path zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > content > attachment-data.xml

And zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > content > content-data.xml

3. Choose a WXR (.xml) file to upload, then click Upload file and import.



4. You will then have the choice to import attachments, so click on the "Download and import file attachments" box.



5. Click Submit.

Repeat the steps with content-data.xml file.

Step-4: Import Slider

1. Go to Slider Revolution.



2. Import slider.



3. You shoud be able to find it following the path zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > revslider > home1.zip. You need upload all slider inside revslider file.

Step-5: Import Options

1. Go to ZK Monaco > Import / Export on the left menu




2. You shoud be able to find it following the path zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > options.json .

3. You go to the option import / export in theme options then click on the button: "import this file" and copy all content in file options.json and paste in here like image below.

Step-6: Import Widgets

1. Go to Widget Importer & Exporter on the Tools menu.



2. You shoud be able to find it following the path zk-monaco > inc > demo-data > zk-monaco-01 > widgets.wie.

3. You can click button browse and upload file widget.wie

To be more perfect site you should install more photos.

Go to Force Regenerate Thumbnails on the Tools menu.





You just need to wait until the update is complete all photos.

You will have the perfect website.

Now you have a website just like our demo.

1. 1. From the 'Appearance' menu on the left-hand side of the Dashboard, select the 'Menus' option to bring up the Menu Editor.



2. 2. Select create a new menu at the top of the page



3. 3. Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box.
4. 4. Click the Create Menu button. 



5. 5. Click Select to select menu created.

Your new custom menu has been defined.

You can add different link types into your menu, these are split between panes left of the menu you're currently editing.

1. 1. Locate the pane entitled Pages.
2. 2. Within this pane, select the View All link to bring up a list of all the currently published Pages on your site.
3. 3. Select the Pages that you want to add by clicking the checkbox next to each Page's title.
4. 4. Click the Add to Menu button located at the bottom of this pane to add your selection(s) to the menu that you created in the previous step.



5. 5. Click the Save Menu button once you've added all the menu items you want.

Your custom menu has now been saved.

When planning the structure of your menu, it helps to think of each menu item as a heading in a formal report document. In a formal report, main section headings (Level 1 headings) are the nearest to the left of the page; sub-section headings (Level 2 headings) are indented slightly further to the right; any other subordinate headings (Level 3, 4, etc) within the same section are indented even further to the right.

The WordPress menu editor allows you to create multi-level menus using a simple 'drag and drop' interface. Drag menu items up or down to change their order of appearance in the menu. Drag menu items left or right in order to create sub-levels within your menu.

To make one menu item a subordinate of another, you need to position the 'child' underneath its 'parent' and then drag it slightly to the right.

1. 1. Position the mouse over the 'child' menu item.
2. 2. Whilst holding the left mouse button, drag it to the right.
3. 3. Release the mouse button.
4. 4. Repeat these steps for each sub-menu item.



5. 5. Click the Save Menu  button in the Menu Editor to save your changes.

1. 1. Scroll to the bottom of the menu editor window.
2. 2. In the section titled Theme locations, click the check box for the location where you want your menu to appear.



3. 3. Click Save menu once you've made your selection.

Congratulations! Your menu has now been added to your site.

You can set any menu as Primary menu here.

The menu result:

The first, please go to Page > Add new in the sidebar left to create a new page.

Enter the Page title and content for page, example as image below:

Click Publish and View page to see Result:

Then, scroll down to the bottom of page to see the Page Options section. With the Page Options specially built for our themes, you can easily customize for Page, Header, Page Title & BC and Footer of every page.

Header

If you have more than one menu, you can set different header for different pages

Page Title

You can give a Title and Sub-title to the page here. You can also change the position of Title, Sub-title and Breadcrumb. In our layout selecting panels, the color Brown represents the Title and the Sub-title, while the color Gray represents the Breadcrumb. See example below:

Page Option

The options in this tab are created for listing pages (Blog page, Portfolio page, Client page, Testimonial page). Here you can set up the layout for your blog listing page: chose the number of posts per page, number of columns, turn on/off category filter and Ajax mode (if enabled, Load More button will replace arrow navigation.

Blog Option

This tab only applies to Blog listing page. You can chose to display blog posts in certain categories by holding Ctrl when selecting, to display all, chose All.



Post categories can be edited in Posts>Categories

Portfolio Option

This tab only applies to Portfolio page. You can chose to display portfolio items in certain categories by holding Ctrl when selecting, to display all, chose All.



Portfolio categories can be edited in Portfolio>Portfolio Categories

To set a page as Home page, go to Settings > Reading in your WordPress Dashboard panel.

1. 1. Set "Front page displays" as "A Static Page"
2. 2. In the drop down menu for "Front Page" choose a page which will be your home page.



3. 3. Save changes.

Creating porfolio items

Before having a Portfolio page, you must have portfolio items first.

• 1. To create a portfolio item, go to Portfolio>Add New
• 
• 2. Give a Title to your item
• 3. Insert Description for the project in the content section
• 4. Select a Category for the project. To add more categories, Click on Add new Portfolio Categories. You can manage and edit Categories in Portfolio>Portfolio Categories
• 5. Select a picture of the project in Featured Image section
• 7. Chose a layout: Standard or Full Width (See example below)
• 8. Enter Date and Client
• 9. Publish
•

Creating Portfolio Page

• 1. To create a Portfolio Page, go to Pages>Add New
• 
• 2. Give a title to your page
• 3. In Page Attributes section, chose a template for your page between: Portfolio Grid, Portfolio Grid (without space) and Portfolio Masonry.

• 4. To configure the number of Column, Item per page or to display certain categories only, in Setting section, set up Page option and Portfolio Option. For details, please go to Pages>Page Options.

Before having a Blog page, you must have Post items first.

• 1. To create a post item, go to Post>Add New

• 2. Give a title, description, select post format, categories, tags and feature image to your item.

Adding Team member

• 1. In the main menu, go to Team>Add New
• 2. Enter the name of your team member in the Title field
• 3. Select a Category for the team member. To add more categories, Click on Add new Team Categories. You can manage and edit Categories in Team>Team Categories
• 4. Select a picture for the team member in Featured Image section
• 5. Enter Position, Facebook Url, Twitter Url, Instagram Url in the Team Extra Field section
• 6. Publish
• 

Adding Team to page

You will use the shortcode CMS Grid to do this. First add new page.

1. 1. Using Visual Composer, choose Add Element



2. 2. Select CMS Grid



3. 3. In Source Setting Tab, click on Build Query, more options will show up
4. 4. Set Post Types as Team, Post Count is the number of member to display, also set the Order to display if necessary

Creating testimonial

• 1. In the main menu, go to Testimonial>Add New
• 
• 2. Enter the name and position of the person in the Title field.
• 3. Select a Category for the testimonial. To add more categories, Click on Add new Testimonial Categories. You can manage and edit Categories in Testimonial>Testimonial Categories
• 4. Enter testimonial in the Content section
• 
• 5. Publish

Adding Testimonial to page

You will use the shortcode CMS Carousel to do this. First add new page.

1. 1. Using Visual Composer, choose Add Element



2. 2. Select CMS Carousel



3. 3. In Source Setting Tab, click on Build Query, more options will show up
4. 4. Set Post Types as Testimonial, Post Count is the number of testimonial in a carousel, also set the Order to display if necessary



5. 5. In Carousel Settings tab, choose the Number of columns to show in first slide on various devices. You can also customize navigation and more.



6. 6. In Template tab, select cms_grid--testimonials.php



7. 7. Save Changes
8. 8. Click Preview or Publish to see the result.

Creating Client

• 1. In the main menu, go to Clients>Add New
• 
• 2. Enter the client name in the Title field.
• 3. Select a Category for the client. To add more categories, Click on Add new Client Categories. You can manage and edit Categories in Clients>Clients Categories
• 4. Select a picture for the client in Featured Image section
• 
• 5. Publish

Adding Clients to page

You will use the shortcode CMS Grid to do this. First add new page.

Upon installation, WooCommerce creates the following new pages:

1. Shop
2. Cart
3. Checkout
4. My Account

In case that you want to assign another page as Shop page, go to Woo Commerce>Settings>Display

• Shop Page / Product Archive: Select what page you would like to be the default shop page.
• Shop Page Display: Select to show products, subcategories or both.
• Default Category Display: Select to show products, subcategories or both.
• Default Product Sorting: Select the default product sorting.
• Add to cart behaviour: Options include: Redirect to the cart page after successful addition – this will automatically take your customer to the cart page upon adding a product. Enable AJAX add to cart buttons on archives - this will add the ‘Add to Cart’ option to your shop archive pages.

To Add Widget on Sidebar, please following these steps:

1. 1. Navigate to Appearance>Widgets to access the list of widgets and widget section that they can be added. The left hand side show all widgets you can use. The right hand side shows all different section you can add widgets to.



2. 2. Simply drag and drop the widget you want into the widgets section you want to the right hand side.
3. 3. When you finished, make sure to click “Save” in the widget editing box to save the widgets assed to your sidebar.



Example for main sidebar:

The options panel is home to all of the theme's extensive configuration options. To view the panel, g to ZK Monaco in the left-hand menu. Here you have the ability to alter many core aspects that make up how your theme looks and behaves. Any of the options that have some ambiguity to them conviently have descriptions to explain their purpose.

Body

Here you can set up layout for all pages. Turning on Boxed Layout will change all page layouts from full width to boxed. You can change the layout of each page individually using Page Options. You can also customize the body's Background, Margin and Padding

Content

Here you can customise the container of all pages. You can change the container's Background, Margin and Padding

Styling

You can set color for almost everything: Header, Header Top, Menu, Sticky Menu, Button, Footer Top, Footer Bottom. Explore it yourself and be dazzled by the numerous options.

Typography

Not just color, all text elements are also within your control. Define the style of Body text and H1 to H6 Headlines yourself.

This is one of most important sections for theme because this is what users see first. With our Theme Options, you will find various options to configure Header, including changing Layout , Logo, Menu, Sticky Menu, Dropdown menu. You also find configuration options for Sticky Menu here.

Layout: Select different layout for header. See example in left to right order below

Logo

You can select an image file in your library or upload a new file from your computer to set as logo. Follow the steps below to set up your logo:

1. 1. Go to ZK Monaco>Header>Logo 
2. 2. To set logo, cick Upload.
3. 3. If you already had the logo image in your media library, simply click on it then choose Select at the bottom right. If not, switch to Upload files tab then browse for the file in your computer. After it is uploaded to your library, click on it then Select.



4. 4. You can scale the logo up and down by changing Logo Height. Note that Logo Height is limited by Header Height, if you want to enlarge the logo, you must increase Header Height as well.

Widget

Here you can enable or disable Search icon and Woo Commerce Cart icon on the header. Note that the option for cart icon is only valid when Woo Commerce plugin is installed and activated

Sticky Header

You can turn on/off sticky mode here

Page Title & BC

• Layouts: In our layout selecting panels, the color Brown represents the Title and the Sub-title, while the color Gray represents the Breadcrumb. See example below:

• Background: You can change the background behind Page Title. There are plenty options to middle with

  

• Margin: Set the margin of Page Title in pixel
• Padding: Set the Padding of Page Title in pixel

  

Page Title

Change the font and style of Page Title.

Breadcrumb

Change Breadcrumb text, font and style

Blog Intro Text: Turn on/off the Introduction text of each post in the blog page. If off, only image is shown.

Blog Pagination: Choose between Load More button and Older-Newer arrows.

Show/Hide comment on page

Single Portfolio Layout: Choose between Full Width and Standard lightbox for single portfolio item

Related Portfolio: Turn on/off related items in single portfolio item lightbox

Woo Commerce Option

You can create a cool header for your shop page like below if you want.

If you do, first enable Shop Page Title in this section. The most important thing to do is to set up a Background for it.

Shop Page Title

The second step is to set up the text. In this section you can insert Shop title, Sub Shop Title, and customise the font, the color and everything

Shop Breadcrumb

You can customise the breadcrumb as well

Product list layout

Choose the number of columns in product list.

The Footer consists of Footer Top and Footer Bottom. Footer Bottom comprises 2 widget columns that you can choose to display social icons, copyright claim... or other contents.

In this section you are able to customise the look of the whole footer in general, including Margin, Padding, Footer Border Top . Then in the Footer Top and Footer bottom sections, you are able to set up each separately

Please create/paste custom css here. Make sure css is out of any errors/mistakes. Please always remember to click "Save Changes" button. Without that you will lose all your changes.

You can enable Smooth Scroll in this section

Here is where you can turn on/off Developer Mode

This section is especially for all those who want to move settings from theme options panel between themes or when you move your website from test server to live. Please always remember to click "Save Changes" button. Without that you will lose all your changes.

Visual Composer is a powerful Wordpress page builder that allows you to create complex page layouts without touching a single line of code. To switch to Visual Composer's Backend Editor, click on this button

When Visual Composer's editing pane comes up, click on either of these buttons to Add Element

A shortcode selecting panel will show up, you can see all the shortcode available in the theme. Select the one you would like to use.

You will then encounter a setting panel for the shortcode (each shortcode has it own setting options), after a bit of configuration, it will show up nicely on your page

First, set the number of columns, which is also the number of counters.

Then, configure each counter by setting the options below:

• Title Counter: Enter title of your counter
• Counter Type: You can choose the starting number of the counter between Zero and Random
• Digit: Enter the number value of your counter
• Suffix: Enter the suffix, for instance %

Set template as cms_counter.php

Example:

• Mode: Choose between Horizontal and Vertical
• Item Title: Enter title of progress bar.
• Icon Library: Chose a library of icons
• Icon: Select an icon for your progress bar
• Show Value: Choose Yes to show the value number in progress bar
• Value: Enter the value of progress bar
• Value suffix: Insert text to specify the progress value.

• Background Color Bar: Select a color for progress background
• Progress Color: Select a color for progress bar
• Width: Set the width of the progress bar either in pixel or in percentage
• Height: Set the height of the progress bar either in pixel or in percentage
• Border Radius: Enter a value for border radius. The bigger the value, the rounder the progress border
• Striped: This feature is not yet available

Set template as cms_progressbar.php

Example

CMS Grid shortcode is used to add Team and Clients to a page. For detailed instructions, please head to Pages>Team and Pages>Clients

CMS Grid shortcode is used to add Testimonials to a page. For detailed instructions, please head to Pages>Testimonial.

• Icon Item: Select an icon for your fancy box. Note that you can only chose either icon or image item, if you set up image item then your icon item will be replaced.
• Image Item: Select an image for your fancy box. Note that you can only chose either icon or image item, if you set up image item then your icon item will be replaced.
• Title Item, Sub Title Enter title and Sub title of item
• Content Item: Enter content of item

Set up this section if you want to add Button in your fancy box

Select a template for your fancy box based on your use. See example below:

Select CMS Google Map.

CMS Google Map allows embedding a google map in Laboom style.

• Address: Enter address of Map.
• Coordinate: Enter coordinate of Map.
• Click Show Info window: Click a marker and show info window.
• Marker Coordinate: To pin the marker on your location, enter Latitude, Longtitude in Marker Coordinate field.

• Marker Title: Enter title of Marker .
• Marker Description: Enter the description for Marker .
• Marker Icon: Select icon for Marker.

• Info Window Max Width: Set width for info window.
• Map Type: Select the map type.
• Style Template: Select your heading size for title.

• Zoom: Enter zoom level of map.
• Width: Enter width for Map.
• Height: Enter height for Map.
• You can select properties display for the values.

Our themes are optimized by with H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 tags, clean code, HTML5 but if you want to get higher ranking on search engines, you must need some help from SEO plugins and Google Pagespeed Service:

• Yoast SEO plugin
• Google Pagespeed Service
• Smush.it ( Optimizing Images )
• SEO Friendly Images ( SEO Images )

You can update our theme using some ways bellow:

1. Update theme using Envato WordPress Toolkit

2. You can update manual theme

If you have any troubles while using auto update ( It is likely to be a permissions issue ) then you may want to manually update the theme via FTP or Cpanel.

Download the latest version of the theme on ThemeForest download page and simply replace with the old one via FTP or Cpanel.
