Haswell support WooCommerce officially so it is best to make sure your server also supports this plugin requirements if you are going to set up a shop.To learn about the plugin server requirements, read the official article.

WordPress is well-known for its ease of installation. Under most circumstances, installing WordPress is a very simple process and takes less that five minutes to complete.

Before beginning the installation and configuring of your new theme, you must first have WordPress already installed on a server.

If you are struggling, here is a very detailed guide at Wordpress Codex that will walk you through every step.

In order to install Haswell, once you download the theme, unzip the main archive. You will see the following files and folders:

1. wp-Haswell.zip: Theme files that you will need to upload into your WordPress themes directory
2. Document: Documentation files
3. Licensing: License files
4. Plugins: Required Premium Plugins that you need to install manually

Haswell Can Be Installed in 2 Different Ways:

1. 1 Installing through WordPress
2. 2 Uploading through FTP (File transfer protocol)

1. Install Haswell – Installation through WordPress:

Installing a theme through WordPress is quite a simple process. After you have logged into your WordPress Simply navigate to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme . Click the button “choose file” and locate your Theme zip file (wp-Haswell.zip), then click the “install now” button. After Haswell is installed, find the Theme in Appearance > Themes and click Activate.

Please be informed that you should not upload the whole archive you downloaded from Themeforest, as you will get an error reporting “broken stylesheet file”. Instead locate the wp-Haswell.zip file inside the main archive you downloaded.

2. Installation Through FTP:

Please be informed that you should not upload the whole item you have downloaded from Themeforest as you will get an error message. Instead:

1. Download the Theme archive and extract the main theme zip file with the title (wp-Haswell.zip)
2. You may need to preserve the folder structure in the archive when extracting these files. Some softwares such as Winrar create a subdirectory within the same directory name they have unzipped. Uploading a theme to your server via FTP with this structure will lead to error messages.
3. Use an FTP client (for example Filezilla) to access your host web server
4. Transfer your unzipped theme to your server in the wp-content/themes
5. Once the theme is uploaded, you need to activate it. Go to Appearance > Themes and activate your uploaded theme.

Once you have installed and activated our theme you will be prompted to install required and recommended plugins. Just click the link to Begin installing plugins.

Next, check boxes to select all the plugins you want to install, select the bulk action of install from the dropdown box and then click the button to apply.

Select the plugins you had installed, and then apply the bulk action to activate them.

Finally, you will got a confirmation notice that your plugins were activeded.

To help you set up website with the least efforts, we include in the theme package dummy content file. After installing it, all content seen on the live demo will be imported except for images/videos.

There are two methods you can use, one is using our One-click Importer, the other is Importing manually. To go with the former option, please follow the steps below:

1. 1. Go to Appearance > WP Haswell on the left menu.

   
2. 2. Click on Main Options, the Demo Content menu tab will show.

3. 3. Just select a demo and click Import now and wait for the process to complete.

   

4. 4. After the importation is finished, Save Changes and you are done.

Now you have a website just like our demo, with the pictures replaced by grey images.

To imprort the demo content by yourself, please follow the steps below:

1. 1. Go to Tools > Import.
2. 2. Select Wordpress system then browse for the .xml file. You shoud be able to find it following the path wp_haswell > inc > dummy > haswell > XML.
3. 3. You will be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the blog or to create a new user.
4. 4. You will then have the choice to import attachments, so click on the "Download and import file attachments" box.
5. 5. Click Submit.

Now you have a website just like our demo, with the pictures replaced by grey images.

In some cases suppose if you don't import Demo Data of Candidate theme for your site or you can't import Demo Data by One-click Importer, so all widgets is not available for your site. You can import widgets for sidebar manually.

The import will not overwrite any data currently within the sidebars, but instead will increment the widgets and add a new instance of the widget instead. You can following these steps to Import Widget for Sidebar:

1. 1. Install Widget Settings Importer/Exporter plugin.



2. 2. Go to Tools->Widget Setting Import : Choose widget file to import.



3. 3. Select All Active Widgets to import. When you finished, you can visit Dashboard to see results.

The theme options can be installed by this way: Go to Appearance->Theme Options->Backup Options, copy and paste content of Barberia-FullPackage/Sample Data/option.txt file into Transfer Theme Options Data field. See screenshot for details:

1. 1. From the 'Appearance' menu on the left-hand side of the Dashboard, select the 'Menus' option to bring up the Menu Editor.



2. 2. Select Create a new menu at the top of the page.



3. 3. Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box.
4. 4. Click the Create Menu button. 



5. 5. Click Select to select menu created.

Your new custom menu has been defined.

You can add different link types into your menu, these are split between panes left of the menu you're currently editing.

1. 1. Locate the pane entitled Pages.
2. 2. Within this pane, select the View All link to bring up a list of all the currently published Pages on your site.
3. 3. Select the Pages that you want to add by clicking the checkbox next to each Page's title.
4. 4. Click the Add to Menu button located at the bottom of this pane to add your selection to the menu that you created in the previous step.
5. 5. Click the Save Menu button once you've added all the menu items you want.

Your custom menu has now been saved.

When planning the structure of your menu, it helps to think of each menu item as a heading in a formal report document. In a formal report, main section headings (Level 1 headings) are the nearest to the left of the page; sub-section headings (Level 2 headings) are indented slightly further to the right; any other subordinate headings (Level 3, 4, etc) within the same section are indented even further to the right.

The WordPress menu editor allows you to create multi-level menus using a simple 'drag and drop' interface. Drag menu items up or down to change their order of appearance in the menu. Drag menu items left or right in order to create sub-levels within your menu.

To make one menu item a subordinate of another, you need to position the 'child' underneath its 'parent' and then drag it slightly to the right.

1. 1. Position the mouse over the 'child' menu item.
2. 2. Whilst holding the left mouse button, drag it to the right.
3. 3. Release the mouse button.
4. 4. Repeat these steps for each sub-menu item.



5. 5. Click the Save Menu button in the Menu Editor to save your changes.

1. 1. Scroll to the bottom of the menu editor window.
2. 2. In the section titled Theme locations, click the check box for the location where you want your menu to appear.



3. 3. Click Save menu once you've made your selection.

Congratulations! Your menu has now been added to your site.

To add icon to menu item, in Appearance > Menus, click on the arrow on the right end of each menu item for more options, you will find the field Menu Icon, click Browse icon to select icons.

Don't forget to Save menu when you are done.

Our theme includes various options for you to easily customise your menu. You can find them in Haswell > Header > Menu.

You can set any menu as primary menu here.

With the Page Options specially built for our themes, you can easily customize the Layout, Header, Footer and Page Title of every page.

You can also set your page to One Page.

I. General

First take a look at the General tab, you will see some options.

• Full Width: By turning On/Off the switch button, you can change the Page Layout from Full Width to Boxed and vice versa in an instant.
• None Padding From #Main: Enable/Disable the padding top/bottom of Main Id.
• Body Custom Class: Allow adding class suffix to body.

II. Header

• Custom: Enable/Disable custom style mode.
• Color: You can give each page a unique Header with these options. It's up to you to set Background color, First-Level Menu Item Color, Hovered Item Color.

• Header Fixed: Enable/Disable fixed Header or not.
• Logo: You can set Logo for your page as you want.
• Menu Border - First Level: Enable/Disable menu border first level.

• Layout - SIDE MENU: You can style for your menu to Side Menu here.



• To use SIDE MENU style, first you need create a menu.
• 1. On Appearance > Menus, create your menu.





• 2. Click Save Menu.



• 3. On Appearance > Widgets, add Custom Menu widget to SideMenu Area.



• 4. On Select Menu field, select menu you created before.
• 5. Click Save.
• 6. Finally, you go to your page, select SIDE MENU Layout on Page options > Header.

• Notice: In case you want to config your menu look like style of FULL SCREEN MENU/LEFT MENU, let you follow the similar steps above (on SIDE MENU style).

III. Page Title

You can give a Title and Sub-title to the page here. You can also change the Page Title style, Page Title color, Page Title Background image...

IV. Footer

• Custom: Enable/Disable custom style mode.
• Hide Bottom Area: You can choose showing or hiding the bottom area.

Notice: If your page had not shown any widget, please do 2 steps :

1. 1. Install Widget Data - Setting Import/Export plugin.
2. 2. Import file widget.json

V. One Page

• Speed: You can set moving speed here.
• Easing: Allow you setting moving effect.



To set One Page for your page, you must be done some tasks. Please watch video below for detail:

To set a page as Home page, go to Settings > Reading in your WordPress Dashboard panel.

1. 1. Set "Front page displays" as "A Static Page"
2. 2. In the drop down menu for "Front Page" choose a page which will be your home page.



3. 3. Click Save changes.

Creating Pricing Items.

To create pricing table, first you need to create pricing items. 

1. 1. Navigate to Pricings > Add New.



2. 2. Give a title to your pricing item. For example: Pricing Example.
3. 3. Price detail is input in the Pricing Option section:

After creating all Pricing Items, to add them in a page, first choose to Edit that page.

1. 1. Using Visual Composer, choose Add Element.



2. 2. Select CMS Grid shortcode.



3. 3. In Source Setting Tab, click on Build Query, more options will show up.
4. 4. Set Post Types as Pricing.



5. 5. In Grid Settings tab, choose the number of columns to show on various devices.



6. 6. In Template tab, select Pricing Table Layout.



7. 7. Click Save Changes.

Now you can see your result:

To create a Portfolio page, first you need to create Portfolio Item.

1. 1. Navigate to Portfolios > Add New



2. 2. Add a new Portfolio, for example: Portfolio Example.
3. 3. Click Edit this page.
4. 4. On Categories Portfolio section, click Add new, to add a Portfolio.



5. 5. Click on Set featured image, select the image that you want to add to your Portfolio, set it as Feature Image.





6. 6. On Portfolio Options section, set options for your Portfolio item.



7. 7. Click Publish.

Result:

• 1. To display a client, first you need to create client items. Go to Clients > Add new.
• 
• 
• 2. Enter the client name in Title field. For example: Client 5.
• 3. Select a Category for your client. Create more Category by clicking Add New Categories Clients.
• 4. Set client picture by choosing a Featured Image.
• 5. Finally, Publish.
• Result:

After creating several new client items, it's time to display them in a page using CMS Grid shortcode.

• 1. Go to Page > Add New.
• 2. Using Visual Composer, choose Add Element.
• 3. Select CMS Grid.
• 4. In Source Settings Tab, click on Build Query, more options will show up.
• 
• 5. Set Post Types as Client. Limit the number of members to display in grid by entering Post Count number.

• 

• 6. In Grid Settings  tab, choose the Layout Type and Number of columns to show on various devices. You can also customize navigation and more.

• 7. In Template tab, select Layout to show.

Team and Testimonials are created using Shortcodes. For more detailed instruction, please head to Shortcode >CMS Grid

To Add Widget on Sidebar, please following these steps:

1. 1. Navigate to Appearance > Widgets to access the list of widgets and widget section that they can be added. The left hand side show all widgets you can use. The right hand side shows all different section you can add widgets to.
2. 2. Simply drag and drop the widget you want into the widgets section you want to the right hand side.
3. 3. When you finished, you can visit the site to see results.

The options panel is home to all of the theme's extensive configuration options. To view the panel, click on WP Haswell in the left-hand menu. Here you have the ability to alter many core aspects that make up how your theme looks and behaves. Any of the options that have some ambiguity to them conviently have descriptions to explain their purpose.

With our built-in importer, you will be able to get your site ready in a flash. Simply select a layout and click Import now to start importing demo data.

This is one of most important sections for theme because this is what users see first. With our Theme Options, you will find various options to configure Header, including changing Layout (multiple layouts not available in Haswell though), Height, Margin, Padding. You also find configuration options for Sticky Menu here.

• Layout:  You can select a layout for your header.
• Header Height: Set the height of header in pixel
• Margin: Set the margin of header in pixel.
• Padding: Set the padding of header in pixel.

• Sticky Header: Enable/disable sticky mode for menu.
• Sticky border bottom: Enable/disable border bottom.
• Sticky Header Height: Set the height of sticky header in pixel.

• Sticky Tablets: Enable/disable sticky mode for menu Tablets.
• Sticky Mobile: Enable/disable sticky mode for menu Mobile.

Set Up Logo

You can select an image file in your library or upload a new file from your computer to set as logo. Follow the steps below to set up your logo:

1. 1. Go to WP Haswell > Header > Logo.  
2. 2. To set logo, cick Upload.
3. 3. If you already had the logo image in your media library, simply click on it then choose Select at the bottom right. If not, switch to Upload files tab then browse for the file in your computer. After it is uploaded to your library, click on it then Select.

4. 4. You can scale the logo up and down by changing Logo Height. Note that Logo Height is limited by Header Height, if you want to enlarge the logo, you must increase Header Height as well.

Your logo will appear on the Header as below:

Sticky Logo

If you enable Sticky Menu, the menu will resize smaller and stick at the top of the screen as you scroll down, hence the size of the logo will change accordingly. Sticky Logo Height option allows you to change its size on sticky menu.

Customizing Menu

Our theme includes various options for you to easliy customise your menu. You can find them in  WP Haswell > Header > Menu.

Page Title & BC

• Layouts: In our layout selecting panels, the color Brown represents the Title and the Sub-title, while the color Gray represents the Breadcrumb. See example below:

• Background: You can click Upload to upload an image file for your page title background, suitable for Big Image, Large Image style.

You can change the font and style of Page Title.

You can change the text before the Breadcrumb home and config Typography with title text.

Body

Here you can set up layout for all pages. Turning on Boxed Layout will change all page layouts from full width to boxed. You can change the layout of each page individually using Page Options. You can also customize the body's Background, Margin and Padding.

Here you can set up Blog Layout and Comments Type for Blog page.

Timeline Blog

1. Enter Timeline intro start.

2. Choose Timeline intro date start.

3. Enter Timeline intro end.

Single Blog

You can select main content and sidebar alignment. Enable/disable to show post title, tag, icon...

Here you can change the background for Bottom section. Similar Page Title section.

Let choose the Footer Layout suitable for you here.

Notice: If your page had not shown any widget, please do 2 steps:

1. 1. Install Widget Data - Setting Import/Export plugin.
2. 2. Import file widget.json

Page Loadding

Here you can turn on/off to show Page Loadding.

After select turn on, reload page to see result.

You can set Primary Color, Secondary Color, Link Color, Link Color Hover. Explore it yourself and be dazzled by the numerous options.

1. Set color main color.

2. Set color for Link Color.

3. Set color for Link Color Hover.

You can choose number of columns in product list and number product to show on each page.

Typography

Not just color, all text elements are also within your control. Define the style of Body text and H1 to H6 Headlines yourself.

Extra Fonts

On this section, Haswell theme had some available fonts for you. If you want to set a special font for a special class, you only need to insert your class into Selector section, and choose the font that you want on the Font dropdown box. Finally, you click Save changes and see your result, all completed.

Example:

1. Copy class you want change.

2. Select Font Family, Font Weight & Style and paste class on Selector section.

Please create/paste custom css here. Make sure css is out of any errors/mistakes. Please always remember to click "Save Changes" button. Without that you will lose all your changes.

You can turn on/of Smooth Scroll and Parallax Effect in this section.

Here is where you can turn on/off Developer Mode.

This section is especially for all those who want to move settings from theme options panel between themes or when you move your website from test server to live. Please always remember to click "Save Changes" button. Without that you will lose all your changes.

Visual Composer is a powerful Wordpress page builder that allows you to create complex page layouts without touching a single line of code. To switch to Visual Composer's Backend Editor, click on this button:

When Visual Composer's editing pane comes up, click on either of these buttons to Add Element.

A shortcode selecting panel will show up, you can see all the shortcode available in the theme. Select the one you would like to use.

You will then encounter a setting panel for the shortcode (each shortcode has it own setting options), after a bit of configuration, it will show up nicely on your page.

• Title : Enter title of your counter.
• Description: Enter description for your counter.
• Content Align: You can choose the type of display Default, Left, Right and Center.

• Select Number Cols: Choose number columns for your counter.
• Title Counter 1: Enter title for your counter.
• Counter Type: You can choose the starting number of the counter between Zero and Random.
• Icon Counter 1: Choose a icon for your counter.
• Digit 1: Enter the number value of your counter.
• Suffix 1: Enter the suffix, for instance %.
• Prefix 1: Enter the prefix, for instance $.

• Shortcode Template: Choose a file for the counter.

• Content Align: You can choose the type of display Default, Left, Right and Center.
• CSS Animation: Select motion effects for element HTML.
• Animation Delay Time: Choose delay time.

• Shortcode Template: You can select display style.

• Icon Library: Select libraries available.
• Title Item: Enter title of item.
• Content Item: Enter content of item.
• Sub Title: Enter sub title.
• Icon: Select an icon for your fancy box. Note that you can only chose either icon or image item, if you set up image item then your icon item will be replaced.

• Mode: Choose between Horizontal and Vertical.
• Item Title: Enter title for progress bar.
• Icon Library: Select libraries available.
• Icon: Select an icon for your progress bar.
• Show Value: Choose "Yes" to show the value number in progress bar.

• Value: Enter the value of progress bar.
• Value suffix: Insert text to specify the progress value. For example: %
• Background Color Bar: Select a color for progress background.
• Progress Color: Select a color for progress bar.

• Width: Set the width of the progress bar either in pixel or in percentage.
• Height: Set the height of the progress bar either in pixel or in percentage.
• Border Radius: Enter a value for border radius. The bigger the value, the rounder the progress border.
• Striped: Select show striped or not show.
• Style: Select the type of display.

Team profiles

• 1. To display a team profile, first you need to create member profile items. Go to CMS Team > Add new.

• 2. Enter the member name in Title field. Add some Description in the content section if you want.
• 3. Select a Category for your member. Create more Category by clicking Add New Categories Team.
• 4. Set member's profile picture by choosing a Featured Image.
• 5. Finally, Publish.
